OAKLAND, CA - A three‑alarm fire tore through a five‑story residential building at 19th Street and Broadway early Monday morning, injuring multiple residents and a firefighter while causing significant damage to businesses on the ground floor, including rapper Mistah FAB’s flagship Dope Era clothing store.
Oakland Fire Department officials reported that four to six people were treated for smoke inhalation, with several transported to local hospitals. Crews battled flames across multiple floors as residents were evacuated from the structure.
The Dope Era storefront sustained heavy smoke and water damage, though the full extent of the loss is still being assessed.
Speaking at the scene, Mistah F.A.B. emphasized that his primary concern was the well‑being of the building’s residents, not the business impact. He expressed relief that no fatalities were reported and urged the community to support those displaced by the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
