Battle rap star Geechi Gotti is currently sitting in an Ohio jail after being arrested earlier this month on multiple felony drug charges stemming from a traffic stop that turned into a major bust.
The Compton native, whose real name is Marcus Fantroy, was taken into custody on February 5 in Butler County, Ohio, after police say they discovered thousands of stolen opioid pills during a stop on I‑75.
What Happened
According to authorities, Fantroy was driving a rental car with three other men from California when officers attempted to pull them over. Police allege the group tried to flee before being caught. A search of the vehicle reportedly turned up nearly 3,000 pills, including oxycodone, morphine, and Vicodin, believed to be stolen from Ohio pharmacies.
Charges & Jail Status
Geechi Gotti is currently charged with:
• Four felony drug possession counts
• One failure‑to‑comply charge
He remains held without bail, and no release date has been announced. While bond reconsideration is allowed under Ohio law, the court has not approved bail so far.
Are More Charges Coming?
Not yet, but they’re possible.
A judge has allowed the case to move forward, meaning prosecutors can present it to a grand jury. Investigators have said the case is still open, and additional charges related to theft or conspiracy could be added depending on what comes out of the review.
Battle Rap World Reacts
The arrest sent shockwaves through the battle rap scene. Geechi Gotti is widely respected as one of the most dominant battlers of the past decade, earning multiple Champion of the Year awards and helping solidify the West Coast’s presence on the biggest stages.
As of now, Geechi Gotti has not released a public statement. He remains presumed innocent while the case works its way through the courts.
